Complement Your Home’s Aesthetic

Your carport shouldn’t feel like an afterthought.

It should fit seamlessly with your existing aesthetic – right down to matched colours and materials.

That could mean an attached port that mirrors your home’s roofing and façade.

Or a freestanding structure that flows naturally into your backyard.

Or a carport that integrates with your front fence and gate, stylishly combining privacy and security.

Our role: to draft your perfect design and bring it to life through exceptional craftsmanship.

The site was a little awkward but they made it all fit in so well!

‘The end result was absolutely awesome. We were especially impressed by the quality of the build and attention to detail. The carport was integrated with an existing fence so cleverly it is like it was always meant to be there.

Thanks especially to Ben for help with approvals, Gareth for getting every little detail right at the planning stage and big shout out to Brendan and his team, who did such a top class job with the build.

The five star reviews here are very well justified. Would happily recommend to anyone.’

Custom Carports Designs

Off-the-shelf carport kits are almost never a good idea.

You’ll end up with a tacky, awkward space that may not last – and you’ll still have to prepare the site, pour the slab, dig the footings, put it all together, and get council approval.

A custom design costs more, but you’ll also benefit from an end-to-end process, a professionally designed structure that matches your property, and a build that won’t fall apart in a few years’ time.

Build a carport you love, not one that’s ‘good enough’.

Every Pacific Patios build comes with a 15-year material warranty.

Semi-Enclosed Carports

Open-air carports are a choice, not a requirement.

And, if you’re conscious about security, partially enclosing your vehicle is always an option.

Reduce streetside visibility by adding a roller door, add louvre screening for lightweight privacy, or integrate a roller-door carport with a front-yard fence to fully seal off your property.

Motion-activated floodlights and security cameras can also be great deterrents – especially in suburban neighbourhoods.

Carport Restorations

An old carport can be an eyesore – ugly, disconnected, and barely better than an exposed driveway.

In most cases, a knockdown–rebuild is the right approach, especially if the original isn’t fit for purpose.

During your design consultation, we’ll explore your goals and talk through the best (and most cost-effective) way to make them happen.

Steve from Pacific Patios was excellent!

‘From start to finish, running me though the process and providing a quote, drawings & plan on first initial consultation.

Steve really knew his stuff and gave me confidence he would do a proper professional job. That’s exactly what he did.

Communication was excellent, his boys were great and went above & beyond. I couldn’t be more happy with the experience and results! Cheers Pacific Patios!’

How Building a Carport Works

Please note that all timelines are approximate. Inclement weather and other factors can cause delays.
01

Book an Inspection

(24-48 Hours)

Call us to talk through your project and book an on-site inspection.

02

Get a Free Quote

(2-7 Days)

One of our design consultants will visit your property within 7 business days to inspect your caport’s site and provide a free quote.

03

Seek Council Approval

(2-4 Weeks)

Once you accept your quote, we start drafting your construction plans, organising building insurances and lodging the paperwork with council for approval.

Please note that relaxations and town planning applications can take quite a while longer; however, we’ll keep you informed along the way.

04

Materials Are Ordered

(6-12 Weeks)

We order your materials, introduce you to your project manager, and confirm a commencement date.

05

Watch Your Carport’s Construction

(2 Days – 2 Weeks - Average of 4 Days)

Our construction team starts work. After completion, an independent certifier will identify any defects we need to fix before sign-off. We’ll also take care of all the cleanup – once we leave, you can start using your new carport straight away.

Coomera

Our Coomera clients came to us with their vision of a stunning, easy-care entertaining area – one that would be enjoyable all year round.

We installed a modern insulated patio with a cladded wall, creating a seamless indoor–outdoor flow. Underneath, we laid a composite deck, delivering a timber aesthetic without the upkeep.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you need council approval for a carport in Queensland?

On the Gold Coast, carports need council approval. We’ll liaise with council on your behalf before building commences. You don’t need to do anything.

How much does it cost to build a carport in Queensland?

The cost of a new carport varies based on whether:

  • you’re using a kit or having one custom-built
  • you need a slab installed
  • you want a single or a double.

Most custom carports start at around $10,000, although double carports with specific, high-end materials can cost significantly more. We do offer financing on all builds through Handypay; you can also speak to a broker about a construction loan or accessing equity in your home.

How high can a carport be on the Gold Coast?

Council regulations permit that a carport with a gable roof can have a maximum height of 3.5 metres. That’s in line with the maximum height for Class 10a buildings under the National Construction Code. Carports with flat, skillion or hip roofs have a maximum height of 3 metres.

What warranties do you offer?

We offer an 6.5-year structural warranty on all new builds and an 12-month defects liability period for non-structural defects. Individual parts and materials may have separate manufacturer’s warranties.

Remember: you’re also covered by the Australian Consumer Law, which means we have a legal obligation to deliver your carport with due skill and care (that is, in line with industry best practices and building codes), for the purposes you’ve told us about, and within a reasonable time.

Can you build metal or steel carports?

Yes, we definitely can. Steel and timber structures are our specialty. Get in touch with us to find out how much a custom steel carport could cost.

How does the BCA (NCC) classify residential structures such as sheds, carports and houses?

Houses are Class 1 buildings. Private non-habitable buildings like sheds and carports fall under Class 10a.

How does sun and rain destroy paintwork on vehicles?

Your vehicle’s paint is protected by a clear coat, a transparent layer of resin that shields it from scratches, UV radiation, and other light damage. As the clear coat absorbs the UV radiation in sunlight, its chemical bonds start breaking down. (All clear coats contain UV-protective compounds, but their lifespan is limited.)

With enough exposure, your clear coat will start to peel, exposing your paint to the same effects. That, in turn, leads to colour loss as the pigments start to oxidise, followed by cracking and peeling as heat causes the different layers of paint to separate. Hydrolysis, another chemical reaction caused by moisture and humidity, can also damage your paint.

The takeaway is simple: keep your vehicle in a carport or garage as much as possible, especially over Gold Coast summers.
