Lighting for Your New Patio Roof

  • August 13, 2018

Patio Lighting Options

At Pacific Patios we understand that your new patio should be an area for hosting the perfect lunch time event, and then absolutely transform into a stunning evening outdoor entertainment area. With smart lighting choices and new technologies your outdoor living space can now cater to your every lighting need, whether it be for casual family dining or a sophisticated dinner party. Your lighting choices can help to enhance the beauty of not only your new patio, but also of your home.

Downlights

Downlights are now designed to go into the insulated roof, giving the appearance of a flat roof line. This lighting option is perfect for those who prefer a sleek and timeless design for their new patio. With the addition of a dimmer switch, you will also have the ability to dictate the amount of light you need in the area depending on the occasion. Here is a helpful link if you would like to take a look at a range of downlights available for your new patio.

Spotlights

If you prefer to highlight particular features of the patio and surrounding areas, directional lighting can help you do so. Spotlights can be strategically placed over your BBQ area, or shining onto other features (plants or other garden features) you want to emphasize in your outdoor area.

Task lighting can be important in your outdoor space when lighting needs to be focused on a particular position. By pointing multiple spotlights over a certain spot you can eliminate any shadows, making your BBQ area easy to use, or your favourite outdoor couch easy to read on.

Spotlights also help to create a pleasant ambience within a space, and if you do ever decide to redecorate, you can simply point them in a different direction. Take a look at just some of the spotlight options available to you!

Solar Lights

Don’t forget about solar when deciding on your lighting choice! Solar lights are a great way of transforming the look of your garden or pool area in order to shine light on the best features. When placed tactically around your garden beds or near the pool area, decorative garden lights or rope lights can illuminate your new outdoor space. Solar lights require little maintenance once installed and are both eco and cost friendly.

Coloured Lights

Different coloured bulbs and lighting options can instantly change the mood of an outdoor area. Yellow coloured bulbs can create a warmer area, in comparison to a white bulb which will give the space a brighter look. Other colours such as purple and blue lights can also be a fun alternative if you want to put a spin on the classic design of your patio.

Semi-Permanent Fixed Lights

You can enjoy beautiful alfresco entertainment easily with semi-permanent fixed lighting options. There are plenty of ways to transform your new patio with string lights or fairy lights that don’t need to be taken down (creating low-fuss entertainment). This is a great way to make your patio not only great for entertaining, but to help your patio come to life once the sun goes down.
