Create a Space for Connection

Rain, wind, and the heat of a Queensland summer can all make outdoor living uncomfortable.

You could stay indoors – or you could build a pergola that combines protection and privacy with open-air ambience.

That could mean a roofed pergola sheltering your poolside deck or modern screens that integrate with your living area.

Each one delivers different benefits and a different aesthetic, but the outcome is the same:

A visually stunning backyard feature that brings you and your loved ones together, outside.

Thanks to Luke and Jacob for an excellent job. Highly recommended!

‘After two no-shows from other companies, Luke from Pacific Patio was a breath of fresh air.

He arrived right on time for the initial quote, answered all our questions, and offered great ideas for the build.

We worked together to settle on the best design, and he came back within two days to walk us through the detailed quote.

Once we decided to go ahead, Luke and Jacob, showed up exactly as scheduled. The pergola was built to perfection, with outstanding attention to detail.’

Timber Pergolas Tamborine Mountain

A timber pergola defines a space – an open-air room that invites and attracts.

But it’s also a visual feature that adds a sense of elegant structure to your garden.

And, when it’s roofed, it can turn an exposed patio into an all-weather extension of your home.

We’ll help you create a pergola that enhances your property’s aesthetic, combining design options like insulation and smart lighting with colour and style matching.

Every Pacific Patios build comes with a 15-year material warranty.

We stand behind the quality of our work.

Custom Steel Gold Coast

An off-the-shelf, Stratco-type kit can be appealing when your budget’s low.

But it’s also a temporary fix, one that can end up clashing with your house and lifestyle.

When we inspect your property, we’ll talk through exactly what your vision includes and design your pergola accordingly.

That might look like a freestanding, open-air structure in your backyard – or a fully roofed verandah, a new deck, and features like overhead lighting.

Your new space is in your hands.

Motorised Pergolas Tamborine Mountain

A roofed pergola is ideal for Queensland summers.

In winter, though, it can quickly become a cold, dark space that’s prone to mould.

A motorised pergola combines the best of both worlds: remote-controlled louvres that close when you want shelter and open when you prefer sunshine.

It’s a versatile space that’s suitable for almost every Tamborine Mountain property.

Gary is a great carpenter and deck builder and did a fantastic job

‘Had the pacific patios team recently finish building a composite deck and patio here at our house in Robina.

From the initial measure and quote, to the installation and handover we felt like we were in good hands.

There were a few issues that arose, and it was the quick response from the office staff and Gareths professionalism and skills to rectify the issues that set this company apart from the rest.

Would not hesitate to recommend pacific patios for a deck or patio/pergola build.’

02

Get a Free Quote

(2-7 Days)

One of our design consultants will visit your property within 7 business days to inspect your pergola’s site and provide a free quote.

03

Seek Council Approval

(2-4 Weeks)

Once you accept your quote, we start drafting your construction plans, organising building insurances and lodging the paperwork with council for approval.

Please note that relaxations and town planning applications can take quite a while longer; however, we’ll keep you informed along the way.

04

Materials Are Ordered

(6-12 Weeks)

We order your materials, introduce you to your project manager, and confirm a commencement date.

05

Watch Your Pergola’s Construction

Our Coomera clients came to us with their vision of a stunning, easy-care entertaining area – one that would be enjoyable all year round.

We installed a modern insulated patio with a cladded wall, creating a seamless indoor–outdoor flow. Underneath, we laid a composite deck, delivering a timber aesthetic without the upkeep.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do timber pergolas last?

The lifespan of a timber pergola depends on what type of wood your builder uses. If you opt for a softwood build and don’t treat it annually, you can expect a lifespan of 5 to 10 years. (Softwood pergolas in more shaded parts of Tamborine Mountain will need regular semi-annual washing and oiling to last that long.)

A pergola made from a hardwood like ironbark or tallowwood, though, can easily last for 20 to 30 years with good maintenance. Properly coated steel pergolas can last almost indefinitely.

Do you need council approval for a pergola?

It depends. If your pergola is less than 2.4 metres high, 10 square metres, and 5 metres long and not located in a setback area, you generally won’t need approval. If you do need approval, we’ll liaise with council on your behalf before building commences. You don’t need to do anything.

How much does it cost to have someone build a pergola?

The cost of a pergola varies. If you’re happy with a simple softwood arbour, expect to pay $3,000–$4,000 for materials and installation. For a more complex pergola with features like a covered roof, you could pay up to $12,000. Our average client spends around $18,000, although that often includes a new patio deck and an insulated pergola with lighting.

What warranties do you offer?

We offer an 6.5-year structural warranty and a 15-year materials warranty on all new builds. Individual parts and materials may have separate manufacturer’s warranties.

How much do motorised pergolas cost?]

No, we don’t, but we can install pergolas over existing paved, tiled or concrete patios. If you’d like a referral to a tiler we trust, get in touch with us.

Do you do paving or tiling?

It’s technically cheaper to build a pergola yourself, but you’ll need the right skills to do so. That includes lodging plans with council, preparing the site with correct drainage, assembling the pergola, and, in some cases, installing wiring for lights and fans. You’ll also need enough time to get the job done – something many of our clients don’t have. In most cases, it’s much simpler (and more cost-effective) to have outdoor structure professionals like us build one for you.
